On behalf of the Flamingo Fling Committee, we would
like to thank you for your support of the Kinnikinnick
School District and our community.
With your help, we were able to raise over $70,000 in
our 20+ year history.
The Flamingo Fling ...
has been benefitting the Kinnikinnick School District for
more than 20 years. It has become very successful both in
fundraising and making the night one of those to remember. Over
the past eight years alone, the dedicated group of volunteers
has helped to raise more than $70,000. We have been able to use
the money to purchase reading curriculum that is currently being
used in our classrooms, reference and research materials being
used by all the schools, books for the library, display
materials to show off your child’s artwork, recording equipment
for our band program that shows the children’s progress through
their band years, spotlights for the drama department, and
especially important, the emergency notification system. This
system is used to notify parents in case of inclement weather,
school emergencies, events happening in each school, and any
information that is crucial for the continued communication
between the district and our parents. The event itself is an
adults-only dinner, dance, and live and silent auction. We have
a seated dinner, a DJ, a live auctioneer, raffles, 50/50
drawings, and many more fun things that we're sure you've never
experienced before. The 2011 event will be held on Saturday,
November 6 at the Hoffman House in Rockford. Please explore our
